Amvets Winter Conference / Special Olympics 12-1-07

   The "AMERICAN VETERANS" ( AMVETS ), has for many years now been the major Sponsor for "SPECIAL OLYMPICS BOWLING" of Indiana. There are Bowling competitions set up across all of Indiana in all the Counties. The county's then hold play offs and then each county attends the final competition held at Indianapolis with their team. 1400 participants come to Indianapolis and Bowl for the day at two Bowling Lanes which have 80 lanes each. EVERYONE goes home with either a Medal, 1st. Gold, 2nd. Silver, 3rd.Bronze, or a Winners Ribbon for places after the first 3. Its very rewarding to see the enjoyment and excitement that each participant readily express's at this event. The Amvets Riders Chapter 91 assisted with the handing out of the Medals and Ribbons, along with other members of the Amvets Organization. Dept. of Indiana Amvets continues to make the financial donation for the cost of this Special Olympics...............Bull Durham / Pres. Amvets Riders of Indiana
